Wall of Shame: Галя - 3 минути излагация

Имало едно време един доста успешен дует казващ се Каризма. Времето минавало, хитовете се редели един след друг, но лакомията и звездоманията превърнали този музикален проект в бездушния проект Кариеризма. След издаването на един измъчен албум и няколко трудни сингъла дуото се разпаднало на съставните си части: Мирослав Костадинов aka Миро и Галина Курдова aka Галя. Докато Миро успя да се понапъне и да пусне цял албум (със съмнително качество), Галка-малка си взе продължителна почивка, която изглежда не й е била достатъчна. Замина за Щатите, после досади с неадекватното си участие в МAD Secret Concert и след това ни се закани соло музика да пуска. Надявах се да й отнеме повече време докато намери някой да се измами да я продуцира, но къде с помощта на дружката й Руши Видинлиев, къде с едно голямо рамо от страна на Nescafé, госпожица Курдова се завърна на родната музикална сцена...за всеобщ ужас.

Няколко пъти съм изпадал в безмисления спор може или не може Галя да пее, но "3 минути до шоу" е живото доказателство, че наистина фалшивото пеене никоя програма за обработка не може да прикрие. Докато слушам този покъртителен продукт на местната музикална индустрия се чудя докога ще я бъде тази агония? То не бяха блудкави мелодии, плиткоумни текстове и досадни клипове, а сега дори и комбинирани в едно. Шефовете от Нестле е редно да уволнят всички отговорни за това извинение за песен, което се очаква и да бъде част от тяхната рекламна кампания. Разбирам, че Нестле подкрепя българската музика, но не е ли редно да допълнят "добрата"? Промоцирана като песен написана от двете страни на Атлантика "3 минути до шоу" съвсем спокойно минава в графата досадни и желателно незабележими, но имаме нещастието да ни бъде натрапвана като ХИТОВА! Създателите й дори трябва да се замислят как така парче създавано на два континента звучи като електронна песньовка с вкус на разредена евтина водка.

Скъпа Галя, скъпи Руши, скъпи екип работил по "3 минути до шоу", започнете да правите връзка с реалността! В опитите си да бъдете оригинални не вземайте едно към едно комерсиалното мислене на западната колегия, а търсете собствен подход. Текстът е умопомрачително глупав, без извинение. Месенето на български и английски език в една песен е особено дразнещо, най-вече когато няма грам връзка между бученето на "инглиш" и граченето на "бългериън". Ем ай фиешън ор уат? Галя досадно се напъва да бъде лошо момиче, но май не увира, че преправянето на гласа не е начинът. Ако трябва да бъда честен новото й амплоа е по-малкият проблем на фона на виенето й, което може да патентова като оригинална хорър музика.

Благодаря ти, Галя, поне сега няма да се чудя защо в родните клубове оригинална БГ музика не върви, а весело се щрака на чалга колаборацийките с твоята бивша творческа половинка Мирко! Жива и здрава! Време е пак за почивка...продължителна, моля!

Vessy - Ring the Bells

From time to time Bulgarian pop music manages to produce something worthy of listening more than once. Consider such beams as the desperate final attempts of Bulgarian pop to survive the harsh competition. I chose to show you this song at is one of the few pop songs right now that actually correspond to the whole idea of pop music, which on the Balkans often takes hideous forms. I am pretty sure you have listened to loads of similar songs and could hardly find any originality, a fact no one can deny.

Vessy is the stage name of Vessela Boneva, an aspiring promising young singer, who has gained moderate prominence in Bulgaria, but still no recognition outside. "Ring the Bells" lacks the actual potential of becoming a major hit and it still it proves to be quite fresh and it may ring a few bells.

Bulgarian horror turned into a song with Snoop Dogg

Words fail me to give the exact description for this collaboration:



I have never been into hip-hop, but from this very day on I feel sorry for Snoop Dogg. Surely he was paid a lot of money to take part in this "song", otherwise I just don't see a better explanation for this insult. My ears bled at the end of "Dime Piece" and if I want to stay sane I shall never play it on purpose. Of course, the majority of you has no idea who Lilana and Big Sha are and you are very lucky. Nevertheless, you need this "vital" information as this video may appear on TV stations near you.

Lilana is a Bulgarian wannabe singer, who has spent years trying to become someone in the Bulgarian music bizz. Her career started with the girl duo L.A., which had two moderate hits and afterwards went into oblivion. Later Lilana came back solo, but no one actually showed interest in her efforts and she went places in desperate attempts to be found and appreciated. Obviously someone has seen something in her or as rumors have it started banging her and she got a deal to record "Dime Piece".

Big Sha (previously known as Misho Shamara) is a Bulgarian rapper, who had the peak of his career at the beginning of this decade, but after the downfall of commercial Bulgarian hip-hop he ceased making music...or at least we hoped he had. A couple of years ago he came back with a new album and a new name looking for some new found glory. What he didn't had in consideration was that hip-hop was not hip anymore and house music (apart from pop-folk) was (unfortunately still is) the music that ruled the nation. Sha realized that no matter who has he worked with and what he has done in the States for the last few years, people didn't care at all.

I have no idea how come Lilana and Big Sha, two fine examples of wannabe musicians, collaborated with Snoop Dogg, who no doubt is among the biggest in his genre. Official sponsors (understand producers) for Bulgaria is Nescafé as they promote "Dime Piece" as "3 in 1: Unexpectedly good combination". Mmmm, not really...unexpected - definitely, but good - think (listen) again. Apart from Snoop Dogg, the whole song is a disaster. Are there no musicians surrounding Lilana to tell her once and for all that she just cannot sing...she's not even pretty to compensate for her talentless singing. Do you think that Big Sha is actually rapping? To me his "rapping" sounds like mumbling some mambo-jumbo, which in comparison to the techniques of Dogg sound quite pathetic.

Give your best to pay attention to the meaningless text sung by Lilana and try to figure out what is she actually whining about as I had no idea what she meant...and I am pretty sure she did as well. Of course, you may like the song, but most probably it would be just for Snoop Dogg. Tomorrow you wouldn't even remember the rest and it is advisory not to.

Bulgaria's choice for Eurovision 2009?

First of all, I should admit that I am really not very much into the whole Eurovision song contest, but as a Bulgarian myself I feel the urge to share a few words on the choice for a representative for this year's edition in Moscow. The Bulgarian National Television produced the sloppy and irrelevant reality show called "Be a star", which was to select the best song which would go straight to the finals. Well, let's say that its ratings were hitting the floor and many would qualify the show as boring and annoying even to elderly people or with words "Much ado about nothing".

After several months of selections and pure blabber Bulgaria has its newest Eurovision "star" in the face of Krasimir Avramov, who is bestowed the name "The voice". He describes his music as a fusion of pop-opera and world with a fine touch of electronica. I have not had the chance to hear much of his works, but after last evening I am not very willing to do that. I wish at this time I started praising his song "Illusion" and being proud of what we are sending to Moscow. Sadly this is not the case and positivism has failed to arrive on time for this show.

The song "Illusion" is a tasteless, blunt and even irritating example of kitsch that some try to pass as contemporary music. Style fusion may be the newest trend, but this doesn't mean that everything created under its influences is worthy. Few can have the commercial success of Sarah Brightman, who managed to establish herself as both an opera singer and as a new age/contemporary singer, and obviously Mr. Avramov is still somewhere in between. Unfortunately for him "Illusion" is anything but soothing to the ear and if I were him I'd reconsider my professional strives. His vocal abilities are doubtful and rather mediocre compared to what other contestants showed at the Final. In addition Avramov lacks any stage presence, despite his efforts to be original.

Definitely I am no expert when it comes to opera and I am not in the right to comment the vocal abilities in this music sphere...and still I am not deaf. This high-pitched operatic voice of his just did not match the whole concept of a Medieval battle and a lust crusade. Few are those who may find anything sexy in a man who sounds like someone has squeezed his dignity, especially when this is to reach millions of households. I've watched the official at least several times and still cannot figure out the idea behind it. Oh, and I wonder how it managed to pass censorship having in mind the visible frontal nudity...wasn't this video to be shown at daytime? Not that I've ever had the chance to watch it anywhere but the internet.

After Bulgaria's Eurovision Final I do doubt whether we have to participate in this year's edition. Probably nobody is going to notice our absence and I am pretty sure no one is to support "Illusion" when it comes to voting. It just doesn't deserve it and I don't fell guilty when I am saying it. It will remain the absolute mystery how this song actually received 55% of all the votes sent last evening, but let's say that with the right amount of money any dream can come true. It is another question on what price!
